Available roles

Main Duties

  • Demonstrate clueQuest values at all times
  • Host escape game experiences, either solo or part of a group of hosts
  • Facilitate client welcome, and hold team briefings and debriefings
  • Ensure that facilitation of the games meets the quality standards of clueQuest
  • Ensure escape units are correctly re-set and fully functioning
  • Report any issues with escape units and props to Managers
  • Upsell and facilitate any customer service merchandise purchases

Team Support

  • Act as a clueQuest buddy to help new starters settle into their role, navigate around the escape units and share knowledge and experience
  • Represent the clueQuest brand at external events and exhibitions
  • Ownership of any clueQuest projects as appropriate
  • Other reasonable tasks related to the daily operations of clueQuest
  • Office tasks (eg. restocking merchandise, organising office supplies, assembling Print+Cut+Escape products for postage)
  • Other reasonable support and on-site customer service tasks related to the daily operation of clueQuest

Facilities Duties

  • Ensure Mission Control is presentable and fully functioning prior to games and large booking events
  • Prepare and clean props and escape room units
  • Help set up for any large corporate bookings in the Conference or Apollo Rooms
  • Opening and closing responsibilities occasionally - training will be provided

Contract - Hours - Availability

  • 0 Hour, 21 Hours, and 30 Hour Permanent Contracts available with flexible work schedules and emphasis on working weekends
  • We schedule 2 hour to 11 hour shifts for employees
  • A high amount of weekend availability is required
  • 0 Hour contract work is prioritised during term times, weekends, summer weeks and occasional weekday afternoons and evenings depending on demand

Job Title: Gamesmaker (Game Host)

Reports to: Assistant Managers

Location: London Office, King's Cross

Status: Permanent, 30 hours, 21 hours and 0-hour contracts to be filled

Sales Support responsibilities

  • You will manage special bookings from start to finish, offering excellent customer service throughout, including post-sale
  • You'll accurately upsell the company's products by getting to know our live escape games and play at home games and other offerings
  • You will analyse our existing client base and introduce ways of upselling and cross-selling as appropriate
  • Working independently, you'll identify potential new clients to target and proactively approach them using memorable and professional methods:
    1. Cold calling, emailing booking organisers who have started orders but have not finished them, “leafleting” our corporate team voucher puzzles to local businesses in the area, represent clueQuest at exhibitions, fairs or market stalls
  • Manage sales (with guidance from the CEO) of three key areas:
    1. Public: You will use innovative sales methods to engage the public, encourage the uptake of all clueQuest products and drive footfall
    2. Corporate: You will engage businesses to increase bookings used for team building and staff incentives
    3. New product launch: You will promote our future products in coordination with the marketing lead
  • Actively develop your market insight to keep on top of consumer trends to spot further potential and growth opportunities, and report back on a quarterly basis
  • You'll work closely with the leadership team and marketing lead to formulate strategies and deliver engagement plans

Event Organisation

  • Event coordination and management for special promotional events
  • Ideation and developing events
  • Marketing strategies, sponsorship identification, and speaker/performer coordination
  • Oversee on-site activities, and collect feedback for post-event evaluation
  • Clear communication with stakeholders and provide summaries and financial reports after the event

Additional Responsibilities

  • Taking calls and providing a professional first point of contact for customer leads
  • Ensure that all customer enquiries are managed in a timely manner that meets internal procedures and customer satisfaction
  • Manage special bookings (corporate, school, proposal and birthday) bookings
  • Supporting with general administration duties (managing office material stock, assist Operations Manager and CEO with any reasonable administrative tasks)
  • Monitoring of Company website and internal IT systems ensuring consistency for the customer journey (particular support with special booking and seasonal promotional landing pages)

Additional Ad-hoc Responsibilities (based on demand)

  • Editorial and proof-reading support for marketing and game design
  • Support with blog posting and content creation, if needed
  • Gamesmaking when required (usually on quieter weekday mornings and afternoons)
  • Working weekend days will be required based on customer demand, either Gamesmaking or as a Reception Role supporting with the reception of teams and answering customer queries

Person Specification Requirements

  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous approach to work with a high level of customer service
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong knowledge of IT, in particular Google documents, spreadsheets
  • Excellent ability to prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines and manage expectations
  • You'll be commercially savvy so you can identify gaps in the market and report back on consumer trends
  • You'll possess good copywriting skills in order to captivate audiences with your email approaches
  • Your telephone manner will be second-to-none; you'll be bold, determined and polite
Desirable
  • Your background will be from within a Sales environment - you'll be able to demonstrate a successful sales track record and you'll have at least two excellent references
  • Ideally you will have 1-2 years' experience in a Sales role or similar role
  • You will be up-to-date on current trends within the wider market, e.g. innovations in technology, entertainment news etc and will be familiar with products related to our industry
  • You'll be familiar with the world of live escape gaming and will know the various games the clueQuest offer
  • You can demonstrate your clear communication, organisation and presentation skills at interview
